10km Walk For Dystonia Awareness on The Sunshine Coast Sunday 6th October 2013 at 10am
Story
I am fundraising for the Brain Foundation a charity that funds research projects into neurological disorders, brain disease and brain injuries and also to help raise public awareness and much needed funds for Dystonia Research which will improve the chances of a cure in the not too distant future.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder for which I was diagnosed with in April 2012. It is the third most common movement disorder after Essential Tremor and Parkinson's Disease. Dystonia affects my life on a daily basis just like other Dystonia sufferers in ways such as the simple pleasure of walking, driving, shopping and even completing general household duties with the constant spasms, pulling and pain in my neck, jaw, shoulders and arm. For instance try imagining what it feels like when all your muscles are trying to compete against each other, it can result in a constant daily battle with pain and frustration.
I welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make! All donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.
Please click on the green donate button now and help me support the Brain Foundation and reach my fundraising target!
